How I Pad My Pointe Shoes!

hey cinnabuns!

this post is for any pointe beginners and are wondering what type of padding to get! when i was starting my pointe journey, (and before i knew what killers pointe shoes were), i was looking for an article like this, but JUST COULDN'T find one! so here it is! (i also included some pointe shoes for each foot type! check out my post My Pointe Journey to see why i added this!)

so the first thing i put in my shoes is Second Skin and Dancer's Dots. what is the difference? so, Dancer's Dots are padded and cushioned, so if you are trying to prevent a blister, and want to pad your skin from getting one. Second Skin is much flatter and lie much closer to your skin, and easily goes on top of pre-existing blisters. this is simply because of my (many!) blisters and calluses.

after that, i will put on my Ouch Pouches. since Ouch Pouches are so much shorter, you should use them if you have shorter toes, or they will not do anything. i have very short toes, so they work perfectly! if you have longer toes, use Extra Long Gellows, as they will cover your toes completely. then, you should put your tights over the pads, to keep them in place. if you want to use Lamb's Wool, just tape your pads in place with medical tape and put your Wool on top, putting your tights on top after that.

after that, i usually just put on my pointe shoes get ready to dance! but as promised, here are the pointe shoes for each foot type!

Tapered Feet-these feet are the ones with long big toes that get shorter gradually

High Arches - those of you with the world's bendiest feet (can you tell i'm a little jello!), check out these shoes:

Capezio Tiffany Pointe Shoes - these shoes are very strong and have another 3/4 shank. they are great for super tapered feet and flatter your high arches.

Russian Pointe Lumina - these shoes are absolutely beautiful and the hard shank will support you on the stage

Bloch Axi Stretch - these shoes may look strange, but are also extremely supportive for anybody with bendy, archy feet.

Bloch European Balance - these are very tapered, and will support your foot through all hours of dance.

Low Arches - this is MEEEEE! i have the worst feet ever, but with the right shoe, you can make your feet look (somewhat) beautiful!

Russian Pointe Rubin - These shoes have a nicely pre-arched construction, and it also flatters the line of a tapered foot.

Capezio Tapered Cambre Pointe Shoe - these shoes are extremely easily bent and they will be beautifully flattering to your feet.

Slightly Tapered Feet-these are my feet! your second toe must be longer or the same length as the big toe to join the Club of Cool Feet Kids!

High Arches - those of you with the world's bendiest feet (can you tell i'm a little jello?!?), check out these shoes:

Capezio Phoenix Pointe Shoes-they are very strong shanked shoes with a 3/4 skive, and will support your bendy feet.

Low Arches - this is MEEEEE! i have the worst feet ever, but with the right shoe, you can make your feet look (somewhat) beautiful!

Russian Pointe Echappe - I wear this shoe, and it makes it so easy to get over the box! It will make your feet look beautiful, and the white shade lengthens your line.

Bloch Amelie - this shoe will make your feet look extremely archy, since you will actually be over the box, while still being supportive.

Capezio Kylee - this shoe is so beautiful, with it's peachy rose pink, and is so flexible that your feet will be beautiful

Square Feet-While these might also be the easily balanced feet, they are also slightly less attractive. these feet are going to look beautiful still, with these shoes.

High Arches - those of you with the world's bendiest feet (can you tell i'm a little jello?!?), check out these shoes:

Nikolay Triumph - this shoe will make your foot look completely beautiful, and highlights your arch.

Low Arches - this is MEEEEE! i have the worst feet ever, but with the right shoe, you can make your feet look (somewhat) beautiful!

Russian Pointe Saute - this shoe is so beautiful that you will never guess that your foot is not super tapered.
