Delicious Snacks to Eat!

hi all,

this is Tali. here's a list of amazing snacks that everybody should know how to make. They are (mostly) very healthy, and (mostly) take around 5-10 minutes. Some of them are even vegan/vegetarian! #cinnamonbuns!



Maple Toast

this is a variation on cinnamon toast, but instead of a spicy twang, we have a sweet, gentle flavor.

Ingredients:

Brioche (2 slices)

1/2 cup of Maple Syrup

1 1/2 tablespoons of Dark Brown Sugar

2 tablespoons of Softened Butter

This yields 2 slices (one serving).


To make this recipe, first lightly toast the brioche, making them a light golden brown. Then, spread half of the softened butter onto the toast and sprinkle half of the sugar on each. Then, put half of the brown sugar on each of the toasts and then soak them in maple syrup. Bake/fry them for about 5 minutes or until the sugar starts to bubble and caramelize. Yummy!



Cinnamon Créme Brúlée

This is like normal créme brúlée, but with a spicy twist; super easy to make!

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy whipping cream, or half-and-half

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

⅛ teaspoon salt

5 egg yolks

½ cup sugar, with extra for topping

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Honey/Berries/Powdered Sugar, etc for topping for topping

This yields as many custards as you want, depending on how big your ramekins are.


To make this recipe, first, put the cream, vanilla and salt into a saucepan and warm over the stove, until hot, but not scalding. Then, beat together the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly stir the egg-sugar mixture into the cream and pour into ramekins. Put the ramekins in a dish and pour boiling water into the dish. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 325 degrees. Cool completely. In a separate bowl, combine the cinnamon and remaining sugar and sprinkle over the custard. Then, caramelize the sugar. (You can broil, use a heated spoon, or even a torch if you want to be fancy!) Put on toppings and enjoy!


Mango-Passionfruit-Raspberry Sorbet

This icy dessert is has a sweet, zesty tang that's bound to make your day!

Ingredients:

1 package (16 ounces) frozen mango chunks, slightly thawed

1/2 cup passion fruit juice

2 tablespoons sugar

1/4 cup frozen raspberries

2 tablespoons lemon zest


To make, start by placing all ingredients, but not the lemon zest or the raspberries, in a blender. Then, in a chilled bowl, add in the the zest and berries, and voila! An easy to make, delicious summertime delight!

Berry Lemon Smoothie

This smoothie is super healthy, easy-to-make, and dairy free!

Ingredients:

1 cup of Frozen Raspberries

1 cup of Frozen Blueberries

1/2 cup of Frozen Strawberries

1/4 cup of Lemon Juice

Water/Ice as needed


To make, just combine all of the ingredients in a blender and add water/ice to create the desired consistency.

Caramelized Apple Ice Cream

this sweet creamy treat may not be amazing for you, but it is delicious!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar

1 diced apple (Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith, SweeTango or similar)

1 quart of Vanilla Ice Cream


Caramelize the apples by adding water and the brown sugar into a pan and adding the apples into the mixture. Combine with ice cream and serve!
