Debate: what should kids do more, play, or learn?

so there's definetely a reason for this post. my mom just came in and told me if i didn't put my grades first, then i would have to drop dance. that got me thinking: should kids do more playing or learning? i mean, sure, kids have to learn math and reading and social studies, but as you get older, you will have to learn more and more and play less and less, so when are you supposed to get to play? comment your opinion on this topic. #cinnamonbuns!
